Kommando is the location with the highest altitude (1017 m) in Covasna County and it is the starting point for many hiking tours. Lacauti is the highest point of the local mountains, and the weather station on the top of the mountain represents a well known tourist attraction.

From the pension the guests can reach the top of the nearest mountain, Lacauti (1777 m) hiking or by ATV in the summer or snowmobile in the winter. In the winter time you can enjoy the ski slopes on the Laur hill, situated in the east of the resort.

The most noteworthy things to see are the technological memories of the industrial establishments, the two government buildings erected in the days of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and later renovated:

• the Kis - Kastely (Small Manor House) from 1890;
• the Lichtenstein - house ( the present town hall);
• the hunting-seat built between 1927 and 1928 in the Swiss style.

In the south of the location some forests can be visited, like "Jahoros" (with maples, 1174 m), a local attraction because of the abundance of forest plants (mushrooms, raspberry).

All these places offer to the visitor plenty of mushrooms, forest fruits and medicinal herbs.

The forests from Kommando were seriously damaged on the 5th of November 1995, when the windstorm destroyed 2.5 million cubic meters of wood. Apart from the fact that the rehabilitation of the zone started immediately the forest will need time to grow to the size it was before.
